The world of water is changing. Business customers are being given the freedom to choose their water retailers for the first time, with the new ruling coming in to effect from April 2017.
Tribe Utilities are poised to help their clients secure the best possible partnerships during this transitional period. Non-household customers of suppliers based wholly or mainly in England will be able to choose both their water supply and wastewater retailer. There are no minimum thresholds on water usage to be eligible, and customers with larger water requirements (in excess of 50 million letters per annum) will also have access to licence applications, allowing them to supply themselves with water retail services direct from a variety of wholesalers.
Let’s get down to it.
If you purchase water or wastewater services for a business premises, April 2017 could mean a whole new world of possibilities for your business procurement. Switching to a new water retail service supplier, allowing for competition in the market, and ensuring you get the best deal, will be the future for commercial waster water and water supply. With retail service providers handling billing, meter reading and effective front line customer service, now businesses will have greater control over their water needs by being free to choose the supplier that offers the best package to suit their individual needs.
If you are eligible, you will be able to:
• Independently choose a new retailer for water, wastewater services, or both. The freedom to take your business where you see fit is now a reality
• Alternatively, renegotiate with your existing retailer. Now there is the freedom to search the market for the best options, previously unavailable deals may now be accessible to secure your custom.
• Choose a new price and service package from your chosen retailer. Ensuring the right fit for your business. Paying for what you need, and getting the right service level that works for you.
You can start shopping around now – although you won’t officially be able to change your package or retailer until the market changes in April 2017, knowing exactly where your headed when the time is right, means you’ll be best positioned to take full advantage of the changes as soon as the options become available
